Sarah, the founder of Brown Cow Crafts LLC, is a Michigan native who started crafting part-time several years ago with simple stencils and signs. Over time, she upgraded her equipment and expanded her workspace, eventually transitioning to full-time crafting in 2021. She now specializes in custom wood signs, carefully hand-staining and painting each piece. Sarah enjoys outdoor activities, her dogs, driving her Jeep and visiting local flower shops. She’s excited for the upcoming spring season in Michigan!

Creating Custom Wood Signs: A Step-by-Step Process
Creating custom wood signs involves several key steps. First, the design is crafted to reflect the customer’s vision, incorporating graphics, text, and imagery. The wood is then carefully cut using tools like scroll saws or laser cutters, followed by painting and distressing to add depth and character. Finally, the sign is assembled with hardware, hooks, or frames, resulting in a unique and durable finished product. Each sign is a combination of artistry and functionality, perfect for any home, business, or special occasion.

All of Brown Cow Crafts LLC signs are made from a high quality birch wood. Each wood sign will vary slightly from the pictures above. Our signs are made from real wood, which means you may see wood knots, crevices and other imperfections. This is what adds character to every piece and makes every sign unique! Also please note that although the same stain/paint is used on the sign, different woods are going to soak/stain differently so colors may be slightly different than the original.Our signs are recommended for indoor use, or displayed on a covered front door or porch. Direct sunlight may cause your sign to "age" more quickly.
